Section 8(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, must be amended as follows: “A person with a minimum of 15 years of experience in law, education, administration, judiciary, law enforcement, financial institutions, accounting and auditing professions, governance and anti-corruption initiatives in state or non-state institutions shall be eligible to become a Commissioner.

This reform proposal is included in the July Charter without change. 28 negotiating political parties have agreed to this, except for Jaker Party, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Bhasani Janashakti Party and BaSad.
Observation
    This reform proposal has been excluded from the ACC Ordinance 2025. It is highly unlikely that this reform proposal will be implemented unless the political party to be in power following the forthcoming parliamentary elections makes an explicit commitment to this end.
