An election tribunal has been formed by a single bench of the High Court as per Section 49 of the Representation of the People Order.
The petitions challenging alleged electoral irregularities may be filed with the High Court’s election tribunal within 45 days of the publication of the gazette listing elected members of parliament as per Section 49 of the Representation of the People Order.
The single bench of the HC comprising of Justice Md Zakir Hossain will hear the petitions. Voting in the 13th national parliamentary election took place on February 12 in 299 of the 300 constituencies.
On February 13, unofficial results were announced for 297 seats, and the Election Commission issued a gazette notification naming the MPs elect.
