Observation

No sector-wide guideline or regulatory framework has yet been developed to standardise these practices. However, few non-official attempts have been made. On 25 March 2026, BBC Media Action Bangladesh launched a sexual harassment response protocol for the media sector, supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, aimed at creating a safer working environment for journalists, particularly women. While the protocol introduces elements such as zero-tolerance policies, support mechanisms, and awareness measures, its implementation remains dependent on voluntary adoption by media organisations and does not constitute a binding or sector-wide regulatory framework.
