Observation
Discussions have been held within the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on implementing the Media Reform Commission’s recommendations, including measures to update curricula and enhance the capacity of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) and the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC). While the future role and strengthening of media training and research institutions have been referenced in official communications, no decision has yet been taken regarding the merger of these institutions into a single national media training and research body.
