Election Commissioner (EC) Anwarul Islam said that a decision on recounting votes in various constituencies will be taken based on the application after receiving the court’s order.
He said this while talking to the reporters at his office on Sunday.
According to the sources, the 11-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded a recount of votes in 32 constituencies in the 13th National Parliament election. In addition, several other candidates have demanded a recount of votes.
When asked about the recount application, Election Commissioner Anwarul Islam Sarkar said that steps will be taken according to the court’s order regarding the recount of votes.
