Observation

The existing RPO requires independent candidates to submit signatures of 1% of the electors of the concerned constituency. Under Article 12(3a)(a), an independent candidate must submit a list of signatures of 1% of the electors along with the nomination paper.The Election Commission will randomly select 10 candidate's documents from the submitted list to verify whether their signatures are authentic.
